Dont Get Knocked Out

dont get knocked outHave you ever been hit so hard that you lost the complete sense of where you were and  were unaware of the ground beneath your feet?

When I was a kid, neighborhood boxing was a big thing.  All of the little kids in the neighborhood would gather in front lawns and throw on some gloves and just go for it.

The goal?  Don’t get knocked out!

It really didn’t matter to us whether we won or lost as long as we swung and didn’t get knocked out.

Yes, we would leave a little bruised; with headaches and the occasional bloody nose, but in the end we would feel a sense of pride because we didn’t give into the fear of our opponent.

There is no doubt in my mind that you have found out that life can throw some very hard blows.  It can hit so hard that it makes you lose your sense of realty and the world you know.

The hard reality of life’s situations can be devastating, knee buckling, and life altering, but they do not have to knock you out of your destiny.

My goal on that front lawn is the same for all of the oppositions I fight today.

Don’t Get Knocked Out!!!

As long as we keep swinging and fighting we are guaranteed victory in all we do.

Opposition in life is bound to happen.  That is a given, but the truth is we can either cave under the pressure and run from it, or go through it and conquer it.

Maybe you’re getting hit hard from life.  Maybe life has caused you to lose track of the ground beneath your feet.

Let me encourage you today.  Keep Fighting.  Your opposition puts you in a position for God to do the extraordinary.

In your weakness God can show off His perfection.  Don’t allow your opposition to steal the glory God wants to shine through you.

Yes, the devil will persecute us, yes weapons will rise against us, but none of these will gain the victory over our lives, because Christ has become the victory for us.

My friends today!! Do Not Get Knocked Out!!!

Keep fighting, persevering, and growing.  You are being perfected!

But he said to me, “My grace is enough for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9

No weapon forged to be used against you will succeed; you will refute everyone who tries to accuse you. This is what the Lord will do for his servants— I will vindicate them,” says the Lord.  Isaiah 54:17

Remember: Don’t Get Knocked Out!!

Keep It Simple

In Leader Blog on January 10, 2013 at 3:13 pm

I have begun to really understand the importance of simplifying your life.  I have been recently challenged to take out the old things in my life so I can focus on what is in front of me.

What I have found is that simplicity really brings about clarity.  When you remove the clutter from your life you are able to really focus in on what is important.  I started this venture by first beginning to organize my home.

Just the simple act of cleaning my office and removing unneeded items has helped me to be able to really focus on my work.  It gives me room to think, to work, and focus on the day.

Simplicity in our life is so important.  I do not believe God has called us to fill our lives up with unnecessary things.  I truly believe He wants us to have time to allow Him to flow when He desires.  Life is busy, but we have to remember to keep our lives busy with only what he asked us to be busy with, not what we put on ourselves.

Simplifying is just taking what is in our lives, re-organizing it and removing the unneeded stuff.  Many times we fill our lives with unneeded stuff and carry baggage we were never meant to carry.

So I want to extend this challenge to you.   Begin to simplify your life.  Ask God to show you what He has given you and what is not from Him.  Let him help you clear out the mess and begin to de-clutter your life.

Remember: Simplicity Brings Clarity

I Choose…The Kingdom

In Leader Blog on January 6, 2013 at 2:58 pm

What is the greatest love that we could ever show our God?  I personally believe it is to be willing to lay our lives down for Him.  It is so funny.  Even as we lay our lives down for Jesus, we still benefit.  He promises that we will find our lives, when we lay our lives down for Him.

Recently, I have been challenged to really lay my life down and to choose to do everything I do for the benefit of His Kingdom.  As I write this post I feel like Paul when he wrote “I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.”

We are all called for the amazing works that our Savior has created for us.  We however, must choose to follow them.

I want to challenge you today to really look at your life and to ask, “Am I living for the Kingdom?”

Are you raising your children, working, loving your spouse, volunteering at the church, being a good friend, or living life all for the benefit of His Kingdom?

Often, we worry about so many things in life that God already planned on providing for.  He knows what we need.  Our worrying doesn’t get anything done.  His promise is that He will provide for what we need, but our call is to seek first His Kingdom and Righteousness.

Do not let the cares of this world rob you from the life God has for you.  Live bigger, plan bigger and be a person who lives for the Kingdom.

Let 2013, be the year when you lay everything aside to obtain the greatest prize, a closer relationship with Jesus. Make it about Jesus and not about advancement, more finances, and greater security.  Make your life count.  Let’s build the Kingdom.

Remember: Live to advance the Kingdom in everything you do.  Everything you need will be provided for.
